RESEARCH SUMMARY
Many of the currently existing teethers/rattles on the market incorporate various elements and details from animals. They are spread across the spectrum on a zoomorphic scale, ranging from a very literal animal teether to a more abstract and traditional form. A majority of these designs also have common denominators; they generally include a long cylindrical form for an easy grip, an extrusion specifically intended for teething, and some sort of colorful pattern.
The color choices are also relatively similar; most of these baby rattle teethers are typically comprised of a muted color palette with a few bolder, punchier colors.
DESIGN
The handle/grip is incorporated into the overall form as a giraffe teether in order to maintain a coherent and cohesive design.
Bearing in mind that this design should be catered towards infants and toddlers, the overall design of the rattle-teether is be cute and fun, with bright colors and an appealing character. This rattle is able to stand on it's own, being unlikely to fall over and pick up dirt on the teething area (the horns).
